Inspire me... Maryanne Moodie

So... I recently tried weaving, and I've come to this conclusion. It's relaxing. And hard. Very hard. And the back of my pieces are all very blah looking.

But even after failing multiple times, I'm still going to keep trying. And I blame these wall hangings by Maryanne Moodie for that will to keep going. Her pieces are full of bright, eye catching colors arranged in geometric patterns, sometimes symmetrical, sometimes not. Her tapestries are full of varying textures, and she proves that even the fringe can be artistic and abstract. I mean, look at the piece in the middle ... drool. Moodie takes an age old craft and turns it into something unexpected and fun.

(I first found out about Maryanne through Design*Sponge.)

Ten [I'm going on an adventure] things...

It never fails. At the first hint of spring, I'm hit with the urge to travel. Not the structured every-moment-planned kind of travel. More of the lets-wander-til-we're-tired kind of travel. So here are my ten things, meant for hikes, picnics, wandering, and sunshine.

This post lists Harry Potter filming locations. Or I could just do the Studio Tour.

Or maybe I'll just visit Pemberly... I mean... Chatsworth.

While I'm in that part of the world, I might as well visit all of the remaining police boxes.

I'd really love to see the Astronomical Clock in Prague. Or just... you know.. Prague in general.

And I'd love to stay at the Surf Lodge in Montauk, NY.

Where would you go, if you could go anywhere?
