CJ Hendry is one of those artists that takes my breath away every single time she gives a glimpse of her newest pieces on instagram. Her photo-realistic art is at a level that most can only dream of attaining. She does large scale pieces of odd things that usually have to do with the fashion world: a scarf, Hermes plates, a zebra that is branded by Louis Vuitton. These things are usually displayed with an unforgettable twist (literally, I guess, when it comes to the scarf). The result is a piece of art that is quirky but still quite mature, and wonderful. Oh so wonderful.

CJ must have stock in pen companies, because she uses them by the hundreds to color these huge pieces. Painstakingly using a stippling approach to cover the massive paper inch by inch, she fills in the blackest sections first, then using her crisp reference photos to lay out the rest of the shading.

Happenings: Bonfires and Bath

Fall has come, and with it comes lots of bonfires. I love sitting in front of a crackling fire, watching my friends goof around. It's one of my favorite places to be.

This year, for me, fall also means a lot of blogging. I have a lot of post ideas stored up, and I'm excited to share them with you. Be on the look out for lots of inspiring art, library event posts, and even (fingers crossed) a few new features. And some of those features include freebies!
I have a lot of inspiration for my blog during the summer (which is our busiest time of the year at the library) but I don't have a lot of time, so I'm hoping to make up for the blogging hole in my heart.

And now it's time for some awesome big news! My not-so-little-anymore sister is studying abroad in England this semester! I'm so sad to see her go, but I know this adventure will be an amazing experience. Do you have any advice for her?

If you'd like to follow along on my sister's adventure across the pond, check out her blog: Bath to Bath.

I hope you have a great weekend!
