So... I recently tried weaving, and I've come to this conclusion. It's relaxing. And hard. Very hard. And the back of my pieces are all very blah looking.
But even after failing multiple times, I'm still going to keep trying. And I blame these wall hangings by Maryanne Moodie for that will to keep going. Her pieces are full of bright, eye catching colors arranged in geometric patterns, sometimes symmetrical, sometimes not. Her tapestries are full of varying textures, and she proves that even the fringe can be artistic and abstract. I mean, look at the piece in the middle ... drool. Moodie takes an age old craft and turns it into something unexpected and fun.
(I first found out about Maryanne through Design*Sponge.)
