inpsire me...Matthew Cusick

I have always loved maps. Beyond being aesthetically beautiful, for me they hold a promise of adventure. That's why, when I stumbled upon Matthew Cusick's map pieces, my jaw fell to the floor.
Matthew's gallery has a blend of beautifully collaged scenes and portraits in which he uses maps in layers to create scenes that are semi-realistic. The colors that you get from collaging with maps are muted and soothing, and although the use of a material with that many lines and details should be chaotic, the overall effect is soft and balanced.

As always, this is just one piece of many inspiring works that can be found in Cusick's gallery. If you enjoyed this piece, please take the time to look at his other works.
